about

One of the first tracks I recorded high as shit on speed the day I got to Tucson and found out anti flag was playing some bar with homeless gospel choir, so I take my needle filled guitar case and go busk outside several hours to many early before the show. To where the bar employees realize I'm just a punk rock bum and decide to let me in and give me some water cause we are in the desert in the start of summer. So they let me in let me stash my guitar and then layer on low nd behold anti flag arrives so I bust out my guitar and go ask if they'll sign it. They all oblige with minimal contempt cause now I'm outside busking again. As people start to show up I try to go back in bug now security is in place and they wanna check my case. They open the middle part where you put your tuner or drug paraphernalia at and see the needles and politely tell me I can't bring it in like that. So I walk wat I thought was half a block down or a reasonable enough distance and stash my rigs under a recognizable rock and go back. They let me in cause one of them tells another one of them I've already been in and out I just didn't get marked so they mark me and I get to see anti flag play a fugazi cover that was awesome. I also got to meet Derek and have a lengthy conversation about being a solo musician trying to battle addiction and pulling off touring and also why Pat decided he wasn't an anarchist or I into punk anymore. I asked him if he'd give me his opinion on this song I just recorded on my cell phone and He said sure man. So he listened to it twice and told me it sounds like a good start just try stick to smoking grass and stay away from the dope and you'll be just fine, that's what ive been doing. So the show ends I go try to recover my rigs but then I realize the recognizable rock was to hold open a part of the fence behind the venue where they take out the trash. It was dark when I stashed em so I didn't notice, and i was also as usual completely fucked up to the point of beyond sanity. So I spend the night by what will later become my favorite jam spot in Tucson close to the tracks on a slab of concrete with one tree that offers good shade next to it that's basically screaming distance far away to write without stage fright and I pull a rig from a pocket I forgot about and sit there through the next afternoon making music until the cops have made me sufficiently paranoid and the heat makes me realize I gotta leave anywah and find water before I die. At this point I realize all my sweat washed away like 75 %of the anti flag guys signs. Touché to the way of things. NOT A BAD FIRST DAY IN TUCSON

lyrics

Well I wish I could stop driving myself crazy and forget finding the answers to things that remain unseen but locked in my own damn confusion I'm stuck in a daydream where I'm contemplating nothing again yeah nothing so what the fuck is wrong with me and what the fuck is wrong with you and the rest of our God damned society cause it seems we've all just come unglued but if u don't know why I'm talking about I don't know what I'm trying to say just seems that nothing's ever getting solved and nothing has ever fucking changed..so tell me that I'm crazy man yeah tell me I'm just insane cause that's what ive been thinking myself for all these years before today and maybe sometimes we just all lose our minds like Friedrich Nietzsche or curiosity just kills the cat nine times til there ain't no rekey.
Yeah wtf is wrong with me and wtf is wrong with u and the rest of our damn society cause it seems it's all just come unglued but if you don't know what I'm talking about I don't know what I'm trying to say. Just seems like nothing's ever getting solved and nothing's ever changed
